Project New Sjölunda's client organisation
In addition to carrying out a proper procurement of such a large and important contract, the Nya Sjölunda project currently works with two parts – a production preparation part and a technical part. The goal is to prepare, where possible, to optimize the start-up of the project.
With the goal of a new Sjölunda wastewater treatment plant being completed by 2035, the client organisation is working both to carry out the procurement in the best possible way, and for getting a quick start when the main contractor for the joint venture has been awarded the contract. This involves production preparations such as developing a time plan, analysing buildability and planning the construction phase, but also technical parts such as design, design preparations as well as requirements and scope work. In addition, work is underway on routines for the work environment and environment, as well as supporting documents for the ongoing permit process with the goal of obtaining a new environmental permit in 2027.
Project management
Under the leadership of Magnus Jakobsson as acting project manager, a client organisation has been built. A lot of work remains, but the strategy and sequence for implementing the project are starting to take shape. In May, Kristina Olofsson will take over as project manager, and Magnus Jakobsson will take on other tasks within the project.

The entire client organisation will be presented in upcoming request for proposals.
Sub-project managers drive the preparations work
In the feasibility study for the New Sjölunda project, 15 sub-projects have been identified, to be further developed and confirmed with the coming main contractor. A number of sub-project managers in the client organisation are already working on preparations for selected parts of the facility. Some parts of the facility are critical for various reasons and need to start early in the contract, now being designed to the system document level.
