A regional infrastructure investment
Southwest Skåne is growing. Our wastewater infrastructure has not kept pace. There is an urgent need to expand and modernise it in several municipalities. This is why VA SYD is helping provide a regional solution – the MAXIMA wastewater treatment system.
Sjölunda wastewater treatment plant
Sjölunda wastewater treatment plant, located in Norra hamnen in Malmö, is the hub of VA SYD’s upcoming MAXIMA wastewater treatment system. The municipalities currently showing interest in connecting to MAXIMA are Burlöv, Lomma, Malmö and Svedala.

Our program organization will in the future be in great need of many different skills. We also work with procurement strategies for future procurements of contractors who can build MAXIMA.
VA SYD is one of Sweden’s largest organisations working with water, wastewater, and waste. We invest heavily in sustainable wastewater treatment and push for
environmentally smart solutions in community building. Read more about VA SYD here.
