Function Planning
”When we work in a structured way with planning and control, we can risk manage away many problems.”
Function Planning's responsibility is to manage the overall planning, including governance and follow-up, for the entire programme, and follow it down into the projects and functions. The work is always based on the operational system, which means that everyone works in a structured manner with initiation, planning, execution and completion of various sub-phases.
─ This way of working must permeate everything we do, and it is my job to ensure that this really happens. It is a lot about working with all interfaces, between projects, functions, the receiving organisation, external interfaces, technical interfaces, geographical interfaces - simply because that is where things are most likely to go wrong, says Fredrik Nordström.

Focus on minimising risks
In order to succeed, it is important to develop processes for flows around planning, and create conditions for risk management to remove any problems that may arise along the way. The work is assisted by an advanced planning and control tool developed for large, complex projects.
─ Most exciting is that it is such an extensive project, with a lot to navigate. The work is extremely varied with many contact surfaces, and there is always something new to learn. It also feels rewarding to work with something that actually makes a positive impact on society.
