Function Real estate
”The goal is always to find solutions that safeguard everyone's interests.”
Function Real estate handles all types of land issues, primarily around the encroachments on land required to build the facilities that are part of the MAXIMA wastewater treatment system. The mission is to ensure what is called availability, that is, obtaining the right to use an area of land.
This may mean, for example, applying for management rights with the Land Survey, consulting with the county administrative board before possible archaeological investigations or pushing for a change to the detailed plan. The function also handles all acquisitions, easements and property ownership agreements, where it may be necessary to negotiate agreements with land and property owners.
─ This is a complex puzzle that involves contact with many different people every day, both within the organisation and with external actors, such as authorities and property owners. Sometimes different agendas oppose each other, and then we always strive for solutions where all parties are satisfied. This requires knowledge, openness and a sense of diplomacy, says Anna Palm.

Fieldwork provides important perspectives
Prior to the work of changing a detailed plan, the fieldwork provides important information about prevailing conditions. Some important aspects to consider may be species protection, stormwater management and current sea levels.
─ Working with these questions provides a great variety in everyday life. One moment we are negotiating legal agreements and the next we are out in the field doing inventories and talking to affected property owners. It is an exciting challenge to constantly try to achieve progress in the project by finding different solutions, and at the same time making sure that all interests are taken care of in the best way.
